Sesc_Videobrasil: Performances – Fancy em Pyetà segundo ato

Fancy Violence, the insidious alter ego of artist Rodolpho Parigi, is a tireless anti-heroin on an iconoclastic mission, a destroyer of myths, of phony collectors and their masterpieces. Here, Fancy presents her own version of Pietà: a static performance where she plays Virgin Mary holding in her arms a black Jesus Christ. A tableau vivant that exudes iconoclasticism. The sculpture used in the action will stay in exhibition after the performance, which will take place at the Convivência space.

The event is accompanied by the launch of the 19th Festival’s catalogue, with records of all 60 artworks and art projects featured in the Southern Panoramas | Selected Works and Southern Panoramas | Selected Projects exhibitions of the 19th Contemporary Art Festival Sesc_Videobrasil. The show’s curators contribute with reviews-summaries of each of the pieces, as well as short essays on the projects, interspersed with pictures and sketches. The publication includes a special insert containing views of the exhibitions at Sesc Pompeia and Galpão VB.
