Extractive Zones

Museum der Kulturen Basel showcases a group exhibition investigating how human relations are changing with the interventions of extractive industries and knowledge technologies.

The exhibited works collect different knowledges in a decolonial way to create an alternative historiography.

The artists show alternative perspectives and possible forms of coexistence for the global present.

Co-curation and co-project management: Liliana Gómez, in cooperation with the University of Zurich, University of Kassel and the Documenta Institute, supported by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF).
The exhibition is also part of the CULTURESCAPES 2021 Amazonas program.
