Ian Hamilton Finlay: Fragments

To mark the 100th birthday of Ian Hamilton Finlay, Stampa presents “Fragments”, an exhibition curated by Pia Maria Simig celebrating the Scottish artist, poet, and founder of the artists’ garden Little Sparta. Finlay’s work centred on Concrete Poetry and its visual manifestations, engaging with themes such as poetry, history, and natural philosophy. As one of the most significant British exponents of Concrete Poetry, he gave language a new material presence, poetically inscribing it into the world. A publication of the same name accompanies the anniversary exhibition, curated by Pia Maria Simig and presented simultaneously across eight international galleries.
