Melissa Staiger: Prisma
Curator: Gerda Maise
Artist: Melissa Staiger
Staiger creates large-scale paintings, installations, and works on paper that explore colour, spatial rhythm, and the emotional resonance of light. Her process often begins with a physical space—as it does with “Prisma”, where the architecture of Hebel_121 became both a container and a collaborator. She began by analysing the floor plan to understand the scale and how natural light might radiate through the windows and onto the street, offering visitors a direct connection to the playfulness of the creative process.
“Prisma” debuts a limited edition of silkscreen prints in muted teal, earthy red, and fluorescent pink—colours selected for the way they shift with light and temperature. Repeated motifs and lyrical lines echo earlier works, while suggesting new directions still to come.
