Rudolf Stingel

Fondation Beyeler, Baselstrasse 101, Riehen / Basel

Curated by the Director of Berlin’s Nationalgalerie Udo Kittelman, the 2019 summer exhibition at Fondation Beyeler is dedicated to Rudolf Stingel, the contemporary painter born in Merano, Italy in 1956.
The first museum show in Europe to present a career-spanning selection of his major series of works presents historical pieces alongside brand new works created specifically for the exhibition, providing a comprehensive overview of Stingel’s oeuvre and articulating a multiplicity of answers to the question of painting’s current condition and possibilities.
