Paul McCarthy: Dead End Hole

From the 19th of November 2021 to the 27th of March 2022 the KODE Bergen Art Museum presents "Dead End Hole", the solo show by Paul McCarthy.

Dead End Hole” is the new solo exhibition by Paul McCarthy, presented by KODE Bergen Art Museum from November 19th, 2021 to March 27th, 2022.

Through this striking exhibition, McCarthy harshly criticizes the fake iconicity of American culture. The exhibition features a provoking four-channel video projection realized between 2017 and 2021 in which McCarthy portraits the contemporary American political landscape, including the caricatural characters of Donald Trump, Nancy Reagan, and Andy Warhol depicted in a violent and twistedly sexual context. The exhibition also features the unreleased major installation “A&E Hanging”, and several powerful drawings resulting from the collaboration with actress Lilith Stangenberg.
