Light in/as Image
Around fifty artists from different countries explore light as a visual art topic, presenting around 80 works from the Daimler Art Collection. The collective exhibition merges pieces from the 1950s on with contemporary ones, from the first experiments of the representatives of European Zero avant-garde to artists from the cultural centers of Düsseldorf, Amsterdam, Paris and Milan, and still to neon objects, abstract monitor images, conceptual light direction or temporary installations in public spaces and in nature that begun to appear in the 1970s and 1980s.
The show embraces the different uses and experimentations of modern and contemporary artists with the element of light, to arrive to the highly technological and individual solutions adopted in the most recent works.
