Thomas Scheibitz: Plateau mit Halbfigur

Artist Thomas Scheibitz realises a site-specific work for the exhibition space of KINDL – Centre for Contemporary Art, titled Plateau mit Halbfigur. The free-standing sculpture, with its eight and a half metres of height, is the largest ever exhibited by the artist and took around one and a half years to complete it. Its name refers to the plinth-like structure and, at the same time, to the fragmentation of this piece, composed by seven different parts.

In Thomas Scheibitz’s practice painting and sculpture, bi and tridimensional objects always merge. Scheibitz continues the series of artists who have developed a site-specific work for this peculiar cube-shaped exhibition space.
