Yoko Ono: Music of the Mind
This major solo exhibition celebrates the influential work of artist and activist Yoko Ono. Curated by Patrizia Dander, Deputy Director of Curatorial Affairs at Gropius Bau, and Juliet Bingham, Curator of International Art at Tate Modern, the exposition spans seven decades of Ono’s powerful, multidisciplinary practice—from the mid-1950s to the present day—highlighting her enduring impact on contemporary culture.
Featuring over 200 works, including instruction pieces, scores, installations, films, music and photography, “Music of the Mind” traces the evolution of Ono’s radical approach to language, art and participation. Her work continues to resonate profoundly with today’s audiences, challenging conventions and inviting collective engagement.
The exhibition is organised by Tate Modern, London, in collaboration with Gropius Bau, Berlin, and Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen, Düsseldorf.
