Nujoom Alghanem: Malamih – Faces, Phantoms and Expressions

The exhibition “Malamih – Faces, Phantoms and Expressions, New Work by Nujoom Alghanem” at Maraya Art Centre in Sharjah explores Nujoom Alghanem‘s artistic production, in particular her new series named “Faces”. This deals with the artist’s notion of the human face and its expressions through intense and often brightly-coloured portraits. Alghanem started working on this body of work in 2016, creating faces over the years in a wide variety of materials such as jute, canvas, ceramics, clay, and even digital renderings.
A varied digital programme accompanies the exhibition, including a 360-degree virtual tour, but also interviews and more video content.
