Ways of Seeing

The collective exhibition is curated by Sam Bardaouil and Till Fellrath, founders of the multi-disciplinary curatorial platform Art Reoriented, Chairmen of the Montblanc Cultural Foundation, and Affiliate Curators at the Martin-Gropius-Bau in Berlin. It brings together 26 artists and spans a variety of media from painting, sculpture and photography to sound, film and installation. After two previous instalments in Brussels and Istanbul, the third iteration of the exhibition features a number of new artists and artworks, while keeping core works from its previous presentations.

The pieces on view draw inspiration from critic John Berger statement: “The relation between what we see and what we know is never settled”, inviting viewers to engage themselves actively in the act of seeing the works presented. “Ways of Seeing” also calls for a return towards a vision of the artist as a maker of things, who investigates the ambiguous relation between sight and actual perception.
