Duddell’s x Biennale Of Sydney: Abstraction Of The World

Duddell’s, Level 3 Shanghai Tang Mansion, 1 Duddell St, Central, Hong Kong

This March, Duddell’s is collaborating with the 21st Biennale of Sydney to present a group exhibition of works by three contemporary artists from Asia Pacific region: Mit Jai Inn (Thailand), George Tjungurrayi (Australia), and Haegue Yang (South Korea / Germany). The show is curated by Mami Kataoka, Artistic Director of the 21st edition of the Biennale of Sydney.

The exhibition entitled “Duddell’s x Biennale of Sydney. Abstraction of the World” focuses the viewer’s attention on cosmic space and natural phenomena trough a selection of abstract works of art.

Since ancient times, human beings have been fascinated by the structure of the cosmic space and natural phenomena in the world. Those fundamental elements such as light and darkness, wind and rain, water and fire don’t have fixed forms; therefore, they have often been interpreted and depicted by different cultures and civilisations as abstract forms.
