Per Barclay: Oil Rooms

The series “Oil rooms” by Per Barclay dates back to the 1980s and today is still a central theme of his work: these large format photographs depict spaces whose floors were covered with black oil and which mirror the space around.

This type of work, central to his work, inspired Per Barclay to propose a large format installation with a black oil surface in the Carpenters of St. Lazarus that covers the floor, creating a large mirror that reflects the iconic windows in the facade into the space.
