Do Ho Suh: Walk the House

Tate Modern, Bankside, London SE1 9TG, UK

Korean-born, London-based artist Do Ho Suh presents a major survey of his work, inviting visitors to engage with large-scale installations, sculptures, videos and drawings. His practice centres on questions of home, identity, and the ways people navigate and occupy the spaces around them. Through immersive environments, he explores belonging, collectivity, individuality, and the balance between connection and disconnection.

Suh’s renowned fabric architectures allow visitors to walk through meticulously recreated corridors, rooms and thresholds, each capturing the physical and emotional essence of places he has lived. Life-sized replicas of his homes in Seoul, New York and London evoke both personal memory and shared human experience. His sculptures reinterpret the tradition of monuments, reflecting on how spaces and structures shape identity.

The exhibition includes early installations, intricate works on paper and moving-image pieces, alongside new and site-specific projects shown for the first time. Together, they reveal the breadth of Suh’s artistic journey over three decades, demonstrating his inventive engagement with architecture, space and the body. The presentation offers a rare opportunity to experience the depth and continuity of an internationally acclaimed practice.
