eL Seed: Tabula Rasa

Lazinc presents Tabula Rasa, a solo exhibition of new works by Tunisian-French artist, eL Seed.

eL Seed’s first UK exhibition includes a range of acrylic on canvas paintings with an unfinished aesthetic added to the artist’s signature style: an adaptation of traditional Arabic calligraphy. His work has been stripped down, in an effort to reach his own ‘tabula rasa’ – a concept pioneered by 17th Century philosopher, John Locke which argues that at birth the human mind is complete, a receptive blank slate, upon which experience imprints knowledge – all that we make is actually the product of what has come before.
