Nalini Malani: Can You Hear Me?

Artist Nalini Malani presents her new major work “Can You Hear Me?” at Whitechapel Gallery, a part of the institution’s annual artistic commissions. The work consists of 88 animations, made between 2017 and 2020, projected on the walls of the gallery, merging hand-drawn images, notes, and fragments of texts. Her works convey visual stories, in multi-layered, monumental and immersive installations, to discuss topics such as violence, feminism, politics, racial tensions and post-colonial legacies.
