Adela Goldbard: Paraalegorías

The exhibition “Paraalegoría” of Adela Goldbard presents video, photo sculptures and murals that line the core pillars of her artistic practice. That is, the formation of hemerográficos files, selection and scenic reconstruction of events narrated in the Mexican press and the visual record of these allegorical representations. The work Goldbard has developed in recent years is based on a keen observation of processes or information strategies and media coverage, the degree of reality and fiction and the role it plays in the image. Your bet is a kind of subtraction, simplification and parodic narrative in which, through the precarious reconstruction of events, generates an estrangement, a provocation and an ambiguity that disrupts our relationship and perception, and thought-provoking-in both participants and spectators of turbulent socio-political context of this country.
