Las Superocheras

The group exhibition brings together experiences by 22 women artists who present films in Super-8 format, interwoven which different media such as performance, animation, poetry and historical narrative. Since its arrival in Latin America during the 60s, several women artists begun to experiment with Super-8 to expand the limits of art and reflect upon intimate and collective narratives, thanks to the advantages introduced by this new medium, which improved the quality of the conventional 8mm film. “Las Superocheras” reunites works which revise issues related with feminism, emancipation and gender transgression, as well as the radical ways to inhabit the body and tell a story.
