Works from the Collection Jumex
The Colección Jumex is one of the leading collections of contemporary art in Latin America with approximately 3,000 works of international art from the post- war period to the present day. This exhibition includes the pieces of 26 artists from different generations and backgrounds. Among them are significant historic works and new acquisitions, the majority of which are shown for the first time in the Museo Jumex galleries. This simple point of departure extends out to a conversation between the artists and their works.
Certain shared themes pass through the exhibition that speak to life as a tactile experience in the passage of time; skins as the body’s surface both identifying and interacting with the environment; and the external forces that impact on our sense of belonging and agency. That is to say, they speak to the experience of life as it is lived and felt.
