Due per due: Aldo Mondino, Taisia Korotkova

Within the exhibition cycle “DUE PER DUE”, C+N Gallery CANEPANERI presents “Imaginaryscapes”, exploring landscape as an evolving imaginative construct where reality and vision intertwine.

The exhibition brings Aldo Mondino and Taisia Korotkova into dialogue, highlighting divergent historical and cultural contexts converging in visions suspended between personal experience and symbolic projection. Mondino’s work, shaped by travel, Parisian years, and Orientalist references, presents place as a cultural construction traversed by desire, memory, and symbolism. Korotkova investigates contemporary tensions between technology, humanity, and neo-colonial perspectives, imagining landscapes as relational, dynamic spaces for interspecies inhabitation.

The exhibition asks how we imagine both lived and unrealised places, and the cultural and political implications of these acts. Imaginaryscapes expands Edward Said’s notion of “imaginative geography” toward landscape-as-imagination, emphasising contemporary spaces as open, shifting fields. Through the dialogue between Mondino and Korotkova, the exhibition traces the transformation of time—from individual journey to collective dimension, from exotic fascination to critical re-examination of the present—revealing imagination’s power to construct worlds and the unresolved possibility of inhabiting them.
