Lizzie Fitch and Ryan Trecartin: Whether Line

“Whether Line” is a multimedia installation commissioned by Fondazione Prada to artists Lizzie Fitch and Ryan Trecartin, as the first instalment of a bigger project initiated by the two in 2016, focussed on the new concept of promised land and on the consequences of territorial appropriation.

The video is structured as a magic map, representing an idealised rural environment characterised by a series of permanent country constructions and inhabited by a cast of peculiar characters. Conceived for the Podium, the Deposito and Fondazione Prada’s external spaces, the piece provides viewers with an immersive experience, which mix references to nature and real life situations and chronological and spatial displacements.
