Marco Reichert: of ants and bees
In the second solo show by Marco Reichert hosted by RIBOT, humans and machines collaborate together, in harmony.
“of ants and bees” is the second solo show by Marco Reichert hosted by RIBOT, Milan. A few years after his debut in this city, the artist returns with a series of new and unpublished works specifically created for this exhibition, which reflect on a society that is increasingly led to coexist with technology.
The paintings on display are made through a complex process that merges manual actions with the pictorial traces of the machines designed and programmed by Reichert himself. Here humans and machines collaborate together, in harmony, yet the artist follows the instinct. Indeed, the title of the exhibition refers to an interview with the painter Jonathan Meese, in which he talks about a pure animal instinct like that of ants and bees, which guides the artist in creating the very last details of the work.
For the exhibition, Marco Reichert has also created a special project in 15 copies: a merino wool scarf that shows on the material the characteristic signs of the passage of his pictorial machine.
