Hans Josephsohn: Sculptures 1952 – 2002

Following the retrospective dedicated to the work of Hans Josephsohn at the Musée d’Art Moderne de Paris last year – the artist’s first retrospective in France – Thaddaeus Ropac Paris Marais presents an exhibition spanning 50 years of the Swiss sculptor’s practice, from 1952 to 2002. Exploring the main sculptural typologies of Josephsohn’s work, the ground floor of the gallery sets up a dialogue between his early standing and reclining figures – tender and solitary – and the abstract volumes of his later half-figures, while the first floor features a focused presentation of the artist’s reliefs.
