Jeffrey Gibson: This Is Dedicated to the One I Love

In “This is dedicated to the one I love,” Gibson presents a comprehensive survey of new works, spanning large and intimate paintings, punching bags, hanging cloaks, paintings on paper and canvas, beaded panels, and freestanding ceramic head sculptures. The exhibition offers a meditation on empathy, creativity, and action in times of crisis. Drawing from American, Indigenous, and queer histories, Gibson integrates references to popular music, literature, and art historical narratives, producing a visual language that is at once personal and expansive.
