Orlan: En Capitales

Maison Européenne de la Photographie – MEP presents “En Capitales”, a solo exhibition featuring the restored and rebuilt collection ORLAN‘s unreleased works. ORLAN resists all labels: her name is styled with capital letters because she refuses to follow suit, to fit in. Curated by Jérôme Neutres, the show displays a hundred photos, installations, and films that are crucial to grasping ORLAN’s processes, to understanding the work of this pioneering artist who radically changes all the data, breaking down conventions and preconceptions: each piece is a manifesto and some of them are in a dialogue with icons of art history.
