Litosfera
The exhibition brings together two major artworks by different authors in an unprecedented dialogue
The exhibition “LITOSFERA” at Centro per l’Arte Contemporanea Luigi Pecci gathers two significant pieces by different artists to dialogue as never seen before. The first is the monumental installation “Produttivo”(2018–2019) by Giorgio Andreotta Calò, completely reassembled for the first time by collecting the pieces at MAXXI, GAMeC, MAMbo, FMAV, MADRE and from the artist’s archive.
The second is “Fragmented World” (2016) by Elena Mazzi and Sara Tirelli. Both the pieces draw inspiration from a journey to the centre of the earth and from the desire to represent the forces and materials that shaped our planet over the geological eras.
The exhibition is curated by Cristiana Perrella, Director of Centro Pecci, to pursue unprecedented dialogues between selected works from the permanent collection and the ones on loan from other art spaces and institutions.
