Conversa de Tabacaria

This show gathers works by twelve participant artists of the Projeto Impresso [Print Project], who have in common working with engraving in general, specially in metal. Curated by Marco Antonio Portela and Angela Rolim, the show reinterprets narratives, symbols and fantasies from the life and work of Fernando Pessoa and his heteronymous. Most of the exhibited works are photo-engravings, a media chosen due to its congruence with essential points of what is known about Pessoa: the multiplicity of his production and his heteronymous are related in the show to the editions and reproducibility of the engraving.

Angela Rolim has exhibited in Brazil and abroad, and currently directs the Projeto Impresso’s engraving and pinhole workshop, in Rio de Janeiro. Marco Antonio Portela holds a Master degree in Science of Arts. He works as independent curator and artist.
