…E Prini

“… E Prini” is the most extensive exhibition ever dedicated to the work of Emilio Prini curated by Luca Lo Pinto at MACRO – Museum of Contemporary Art of Rome.

The exhibition revolves around Emilio Prini’s artistic journey, characterized by a constant reevaluation of space, time, and existence. Rejecting the notion of art as a closed object, Prini explores the standard and variable through diverse mediums such as photography, three-dimensional objects, electronic devices, and typewritten drawings made by using an Olivetti 22.

The exhibition showcases works from the beginning of Prini’s artistic career exploring a series of key concepts to their most extreme limits. His works exist in function of the impossibility of being defined and stopped in their movement exactly as the apparatus exploited in making them.

The works challenge the conventions of the art system, resisting commodification and questioning the need for production in a society saturated with images and objects.
