Amar Kanwar: Co-travellers
Pinault Collection presents an exhibition by Amar Kanwar featuring two multimedia installations. Curated by Jean-Marie Gallais, the exhibition reflects the Indian artist’s poetic and philosophical approach to personal, social and political situations, creating a space at the intersection of art, documentation and activism. Through films and multimedia works, Kanwar explores the politics of power, violence and resistance, drawing on archival documents, testimonies and poetic imagery to construct layered narratives. His work documents the contemporary history of South Asia while moving beyond social and political commentary to engage both personal and collective experience. The exhibition is accompanied by a catalogue published in collaboration with Marsilio Arte, featuring the text of the work “The Peacock’s Graveyard” by Amar Kanwar.
