Echoes of the Forest

Artists collective LABINAC, made up of Maria Thereza Alves and Jimmie Durham, presents a selection of design works under the title “Echoes of the Forest”, some of which have been conceived for the place, the recently restored Serra dei Giardini Reali di Venezia “The Human Garden”.

Adele Re Rebaudengo, President of the Venice Gardens Foundation, with the curator Chiara Bertola, asked LABINAC to design the work tables for the Royal Gardens, which also represent a meeting place for researchers and artists where is possible to develop the vast metaphorical concept of the garden, sowing signs, sounds and words, cultivating and nurturing new visions.

LABINAC presents thirty tables specifically designed for the Gardens: the tables, donated by Alves and Durham to the Venice Gardens Foundation, will remain, as a permanent site-specific installation, at the Royal Gardens even after the conclusion of the Biennale
