Natascha Süder Happelmann develops a multimedia artwork through a collaborative process, inviting artists from different disciplines to intervene. The resulting work joins architecture, sound, sculpture and installation to investigate the current economic, political and social conflicts. In particular, it addresses the concepts of containment, isolation and accumulation and their consequences. The project continues beyond the pavilion through a programme of publications, concerts, radio broadcasts and lectures, that discuss these themes in different contexts and spaces.

beyond repair investigates the historical context and conceptual framework for a variety of ruinous spaces, to understand their interconnections and resonances, and to question their seeming immutability and naturalisation.

beyond repair is organised by Ernest Ah and Natascha Süder Happelmann in collaboration with Biennale Urbana and Università Iuav, for the students of HfK Bremen, Iuav, HfG Karlsruhe and Academy of Fine Arts Leipzig.

Jessica Ekomane, Tisha Mukarji and Elnaz Seyedi who contributed musical pieces to Natascha Süder Happelmann’s sound installation tribute to whistle, along with Maurice Louca, Dj Marfox and Jako Maron, will present the audience some of their recent works. Free admission!
