Ai Weiwei releases the documentary film ‘Coronation’ about the lockdown in Wuhan, China, during the Covid-19 outbreak in the spring of 2020.

The artist-activist has secretly assembled a powerful visual inquiry at how the pandemic was handled in China. The film was remotely directed and produced from Europe. The filming was made by ordinary citizens living in Wuhan.
