Originally from the Nantes region, Brigitte Moreau Serre joined the studio of Edouard Mac Avoy, a student of Laurens, Bonnard and Vuillard, and today considered the greatest portrait painter of the 20th century. For 5 years, until the death of the master, she received intelligent and precise instruction in color before entering the studio of Gérard Le Cloarec.
