Mariateresa Sartori
Born in Venice, 1961 and lives in Venice
Born in Venice in 1961, Mariateresa Sartori graduated in German studies with a thesis on Freud and the psychology of art. Her research revolves around three main themes: the empirical scientific method, behavioural dynamics often connected to neuroscience, and music and sound in relation to language.
Her work explores the tension between objectivity and subjectivity, between mechanical rigour and poetic sensitivity. Sound and language are central elements: by manipulating the phonetic components of words, the artist restores the musical dimension of language.
Raised on the Lido of Venice, in a natural and insular environment, she maintains a deep connection with the lagoon landscape. Today, with her studio in Murano, she lives in a dimension balanced between contemplation and experimentation, between nature and the artistic community, finding in Venice an inexhaustible source of inspiration and creative dialogue.
