Knock Knock: Humour in Contemporary Art

South London Gallery

22 Sep 201818 Nov 2018

The collective exhibition Knock Knock: Humour in Contemporary Art gathers works by more than thirty artists focused on the main topic of humour, trying to explore its mechanisms and how does it function in the art field. The spaces of the South London Gallery put in dialogue on the theme famous contemporary artists, such as Maurizio Cattelan and Ugo Rondinone, with emerging talents, namely Hardeep Pandhal and Simeon Barclay, all spanning different comical techniques, from slapstick, parody and caricature through to the in-joke, one-liner and visual pun.
