The first edition of the Festival of Lights called Open at Night was born by and idea of Muriel Mayette-Holtz and is curated by Chiara Parisi. The festival is the first of a series of lights shows that will take place in Villa Medici in Rome.
Open to the public from 16 December 2017 through 28 January 2018, every Friday through Sunday, Open at Night presents an experimental vision of the gardens, a nocturne in the form of a labyrinth of open-air installations by 17 internationally renowned contemporary artists. The result is a poetic and magic path in the gardens where visitors will encounter artworks whose primary element is light.
