The gallery was founded in Bergamo in 1971. Since 1990, it has been directed by Stefano Fumagalli and Annamaria Maggi, who chose to follow a programme focused on Informalism, Arte Povera, and abstract art, more recently expanding to include modern and contemporary art, representing emerging artists of the 20th century.
From 2007 onwards, sole direction was entrusted to Annamaria Maggi. The gallery subsequently opened a new space in Milan in 2016, thereby strengthening its bond with its represented artists while also continuing to explore other cultural contexts. Particular attention is paid to abstract art, Body Art, minimalism, and conceptual art, alongside the support of young talent.
