A Gentil Carioca

A Gentil Carioca was founded on the 6th of September, 2003, by the three artists who run it until today: Marcio Botner, Laura Lima and Ernesto Neto.

Located in the historic center of Rio de Janeiro, more specifically in the region called Saara, the largest outdoor market in Latin America; A Gentil Carioca was conceived in this melting pot in order to captivate and spread the diversity of art to Brazil and the world. It is a place where artistic or political contexts can be revitalized in many ways.

The gallery also expands the field of action of the arts as it stimulates the network of collectors and art lovers in general. It intends to enhance interaction with art, and intensify artistic and critical debate.
