Beatrice Burati Anderson
Located in the heart of Venice, Beatrice Burati Anderson Art Space and Gallery opened in 2017.
Gallery: Calle de la Madonna, 1976
Located in the heart of Venice, in a beautiful fourteenth-century courtyard near Campo San Polo, the gallery opened on May the 10th, 2017, created by the art historian and curator Beatrice Burati Anderson.
The 200 sqm space, certainly not a white cube, is located in an old warehouse, where the amazing six hundred-year-old wooden beams and the floor covered in the sand create a suggestive atmosphere, keeping the charm and the traces of the past intact, including the ones of a renowned XVIIth Century Opera Theater.
Despite having two water gates facing the canal Rio de la Madoneta, just 30 metres from the Grand Canal, and being located on one of the most frequented touristic paths in the city, the gallery represents an enchanting and unexpected oasis of quiet and peace. In September 2021 Beatrice Burati Anderson was inaugurated in Calle de la Madonna the second venue of her Venetian gallery, complementary to the Art Space in Corte Petriana.
The two spaces are linked by a physical and symbolic dialogue through their respective water gates, which face each other. The entrance of this new place retains an ancient Venetian atmosphere thanks to the suggestive terracotta floor and exposed brick walls, while the second room is white, clean and essential, suitable for the most delicate works.
Beatrice Burati Anderson Art Space & Gallery is a research gallery that works with artists of different generations and cultures, enhancing the performative and installative dimensions. While maintaining a close relationship with the Venetian scenery and territory, the Gallery strongly promotes the development of ethical issues and the connection between arts and science.
