Villa Renata

Housed in a late 19th-century building, Villa Renata offers a unique setting for contemporary art exhibitions, featuring both emerging and established Swiss and international artists. The venue comprises eleven exhibition rooms across three floors, totaling over 250 square meters, and includes a penthouse residency and a large, wild garden.

The curatorial concept is developed by Franziska Stern-Preisig, often in close collaboration with the exhibiting artists. Since 2021, the villa’s former garage has served as a satellite exhibition space, offering Basel-based artists the opportunity to independently curate a show parallel to the main programme.
