During his life, the collector George Loudon was fascinated by scientific objects and reunited an extensive collection of more than 200 pieces, including items such as prints, drawings and anatomical specimens from taxidermied animals to bisected human skulls and papier-mâché flowers.
In response to the significant collection of the Dutch art collector, Whitechapel Gallery invites the contemporary artist Salvatore Arancio to interact with it, putting selected pieces in dialogue with some of his works. The artist, renown for his prints and ceramic with biomorphic forms, has juxtaposed them with scientific objects, creating new associations and hybrid shapes.
