2050. A Brief History of the Future

The exhibition takes its name from the book by Jacques Attali, published in 2006, in which the author speculates on the future of the world and our society. Previous presented to the Musées Royaux des Beaux -Arts de Belgique in Brussels, this collective show travels the themes illustrated in the Attali essay in eight stations and through approximately 50 works by international contemporary artists.

Paintings, sculptures, photos, videos, installations: 50 works of contemporary art by 46 international artists, investigate our future in an exhibition inspired by the essay A Brief History of the Future by Jacques Attali (published in 2006 and reissued in 2016 with new updated global scenarios). The exhibition, curated by Pierre-Yves Desaive and Jennifer Beauloye , present, through a selection of recent works, the way in which contemporary artists observe the present to lead a reflection on the future as it is outlined in our eyes.
Global conflicts, genetic mutations, social and economic inequalities, exploitation of natural resources make up the complex landscape of the next decades; the artists interpret these complex issues and invite to re-think the time.
