Glasstress 2017
On the occasion of the 57th Biennale di Venezia, Fondazione Berengo presents “Glasstress 2017”, a group exhibition curated by Dimitry Ozerkov, Herwig Kempinger and Adriano Berengo, with the consultancy of Clare Phyllis Davies. The show brings together over 25 leading contemporary artists from Europe, the United States, the Middle East and China, and takes place in the historic locations of Palazzo Franchetti in Venice and a converted furnace in Murano.
“Glasstress 2017” showcases the works of established and emerging artists dealing with the traditional craft of Murano glassblowing in the creation of extraordinary works in collaboration with Muranese artisans.
As part of the exhibition, French artist Loris Gréaud makes his “Glasstress” debut, bringing an abandoned glass furnace back to life with his immersive installation “The Unplayed Notes Factory”.
