May You Live in Interesting Times at the Foot of Hills. How to Lie Low and Ski at Once. The Piedmont Pavilion
Castello di Rivoli Museum of Contemporary Art and Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Foundation present “The Piedmont Pavilion“, the project is the brainchild of Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev, Director of the Castello di Rivoli Museum of Contemporary Art and Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, President of the namesake Foundation. Curated by Marianna Vecellio, the exhibition will take place at Combo Venezia, which is to opens its doors to both travellers and Venetians alike on May 7th.
The Piedmont Pavilion presents works from the collections of both the Castello di Rivoli and Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, alongside iconic industrial Piedmontese products such as a Fiat 5000 from 1957, a Mars Rover, a coffee machine for use in outer-space, pre-cinema optical devices and obviously a bottle of Barolo and project from the 50’s for a Truffle fair.
The Pavilion presents itself as an imaginary government.
