Milan’s Sexier and Unknown Side: A Selection of Design Events by Chiara Alessi
This edition of My Art Guide Milan is enriched by a special selection of 25 design events curated by Chiara Alessi, who selected for us the not-to-be-missed events to enjoy miart and the Design Week.
“This difficult selection from the incredible offerings that Milan boasts during design week has been driven by three main criteria: the connection these events have to the theme of contemporary art, to increase the accessibility to design for the contemporary art crowd through the use of the creative process that highlights the similarities and the contrasts of these two contiguous worlds; the excellence of the artists, designers, organisers and curators involved in projects that allow us a sort of buying sight unseen, because design is also very much a craft that is built on relationships, trust and the stability of expectations and the Salone is always an important testing ground for this idea; and lastly, the places where the events are held, because, in April, Milan shows her sexier and lesser known side, her more fascinating and proud aspects, and it is a pleasure to reveal these spots that the rest of the year live in dusty anonymity. Long live Milan!”
