Lucia Veronesi
After earning her Diploma in Painting from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan, she moved to Venice in 2003, where she now lives and works. She has always been drawn to the landscape: the domestic, intimate and familiar, the natural and the urban, with the histories of those who have lived in it and those who inhabit it now. Through the use of different media, her work offers a new version of space – landscape: a vision of the world poised between what is real and what lies in an abstract, fantastical dimension.
It is an ambivalent narrative, halfway between documentation and imagination, which makes possible a transformation, an overturning of rules. Her videos have been presented at numerous national and international festivals, and her works have been exhibited in various galleries and venues both in Italy and abroad.
She is the co-founder of Spazio Punch, a non-profit space based in Venice, where she served as co-artistic director until 2015, and she is currently part of the artistic board of Yellow, a research project dedicated to contemporary painting.
