Gandy gallery
Established by Nadine Gandy in Prague in 1992, was shifted in Bratislava in 2005
Nadine Gandy has chosen to open her new space, closer to the Balkans, to meet new artists and offer fresh opportunities to curators to conceive exhibition projects. This space is a laboratory rather than a simple gallery, a meeting point for art and design and conceptors of multiple forms and projects.
The Gandy gallery has 24 years of presence and experience in Central and Eastern Europe. In addition to its gallery activities, Gandy gallery is presently developing several projects in conjunction with governmental organizations and private companies, to organize and produce exhibitions and events that promote the artists of the region, as well institutional and private collections.
Through her gallery and the artists that she exhibits, Nadine Gandy interrogates several themes including the body, identity, insecurity, self determination, migration and transformation. Additionally, she alludes to problems arising from intercultural and intercommunity. Gandy gallery is a zone where definitions continue to evolve, and a dynamic zone is fostered where intellectualism and spirituality ensure the plurality of the gallery. The gallery fosters ongoing research, discoveries, experimentations and carefully constructed relationships in a tireless and passionate manner.
