Art Basel 2016: Parcours
The Parcours sector engages the public and fairgoers by placing site-specific sculptures, interventions, and performances in the city’s neighborhoods. For its seventh edition, Parcours transforms a variety of unique locations on and around Mün- sterplatz, next to the iconic Basel Cathedral. With high-cal- ibre works by internationally renowned and emerging artists, the sector engages with Basel’s past and present, weaving 19 artistic interventions into the fabric of different sites across the historic neighborhood. Parcours is curated for the first time by Samuel Leuenberger, founder of SALTS, the non-profit exhibition space in Birsfelden, Switzerland.
The sector will be open to the public from Monday, June 13, to Sunday, June 19, 2016, culminating in Parcours Night on Saturday, June 18, with special performances, screenings and interactions by Anne Imhof, Eva Kot’átková, Pádraic Moore, Nástio Mosquito, Tracey Rose and Mathilde Rosier. The evening will be organized in collaboration with Basel’s many dynamic arts institutions, including Kunsthalle Basel and Institut Kunst, HGK FHNW, and in partnership with Raw Material Company from Dakar.
Parcours Bar
Parcours invites six Basel-based exhibition spaces to present their artistic evening programmes in a bar. Monday, deuxpiece; Tuesday, Schwar- zwaldallee; Wednesday, Deli Projects; Thursday, SALTS; Friday, Ausstellungsraum Klin- gental; Saturday, Oslo10.
