L’altro, lo stesso

The title of the exhibition, “L’altro, lo stesso”, [The Other, the same], takes up that of a collection of poems by Jorge Luis Borges, dedicated to the process of recreation with which nature continually nourishes the birth of a new one life.

The exhibition project focuses not only on individual works of art intended as objects, but proposes to the public a dynamic experience in which the selected works lend themselves to being nourishment for each other in a
the reciprocal healing process that germinates continuous reactions.

The exhibition path includes works by international artists Lida Abdul, Rosa Barba, Alfredo Jaar, Emily Jacir, Joan Jonas, Mario Merz, Marisa Merz, Lawrence Weiner and a sound work by the duo of international artists but by adoption from Palermo Silvia Maglioni and Graeme Thomson. The work, commissioned specifically for this occasion and set up in the outdoor area of the building, welcomes visitors by accompanying them to the entrance. While presented as parts of an authentic ecosystem, the works each maintain full autonomy of language: the dialogue between different ones generations of artists, distant in time and cultural intentions, becomes a collective network in which each intervention contributes to the concept and function of the whole.
