An interview with Melissa McGill and the Red Regatta family
Melissa McGill created an unprecedented public art work in the form of a regatta with 52 traditional sailboats in Venice’s waterways between May and September 2019, presented in parallel with the 58th Venice Biennale. We interviewed the artist, the curator Chiara Spangaro and project manager Marcella Ferrari ahead of the celebratory sail in the lagoon on Sunday for the release of the volume Red Regatta by Melissa McGill in collaboration with Associazione Vela al Terzo Venezia and in advance of the exhibition Melissa McGill: In Venice at Mazzoleni in London, to open next week.
